Unless they use a 7753 then the date window depth will always be an issue as the transfer gears to shift the 12 sub dial to the 3 position sit over the date ring which is why it has to be sunk down. 7753's are not in supply anymore as ETA have withdrawn it from general sale.

Bummer...because this subdial spacing (and numeral size) is the spoiler of this for me. Oh well...
