I also have a similar situation with my MBK Nautilus. I got a pretty deep scratch on the bezel, brushed it out using a sanding block and tried my best to match the original grain using several blocks with different grit sizes... not a chance in hell. The newly brushed area stands out against the beautiful original factory finish. I was planning on looking for a watchmaker who re-finishes Pateks but after seeing your thread, I like the results you got with the pen.. nice job Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
gasebah Posted October 19, 2012 Author Report Share Posted October 19, 2012 The scratch pen does nohting at first. It takes some time, which is good so you can't really do anything wrong. The brushed part was very uneven when I received the watch. Especially around the crystal there were parts that looked very flat. Now it looks very refined. I was at a conference yesterday and the guy sitting next to me had a gen Blancpain, so I suppose he knew about watches. He couldn't take his eyes of my watch. So funny. Had he asked I would have told him that it is not gen of course, but he didn't. I have read that the cartel version is more exact in general but the MBK is more refined from the factory.
