5513 build and question about lume

Hey Guys,

I recently got my hands on a gen movement and dial for a seriously great deal. Service dial with white gold markers but i'm fine with that. Once I have the movement I will drop them into my original mbw case and hopefully will be all good, otherwise I will probably get a Yuki case.

Anyway, my question is, I have a source for gen hands and I have limited knowledge of lume material so I was hopeing someone can tell me what is used on this dial. And anyone know the production year roughly?

Thanks as always

Since that dial is marked 'Swiss', I would assume that it is a service replacement dial with luminova. The earlier dials with wg surrounds would have run from 1984 til around 1990 when production stopped on the 5513 and it was replaced by the 14060. Those dials would have been labeled 'Swiss- T<25" and used tritium for the lume material. A set of luminova hands or even the current superluminova hands would work well with that dial. The luminova should stll glow well- it dates from around 1999.

Where's the get together?? I had a lot of patience with this kind of build. had a gen 14060 but was bored by it (and need the cash), so I sold it a few months back, then got the itch to start building again but wanted to go the gen parts route which as we all know takes patience in order to find good deals on parts.

I know the original polex mbw cases are supposed to take gen movements with no modding to the inside of the case, so I'm hoping for a smooth build. If not, like I said, gonna get a yuki 5513 case
