Thoughts on that? well i think we can all agree that the latest batch from noob was top notch (Crystal distortion fixed). Now angus is offering this watch with an incabloc mod as well. I think that is the best option for the 127 - just my humble opinion

I asked an old dealer from Taiwan if he knows him.. we shall soon know. The same dealer told me some days ago that only some specific rolex reps are still made in TW and some 1:1 Rolex cases.. all other common reps are made in China.. Update. Here is his answer : " Hi George, Yes, he is xxxx, he make many Taiwan can't sell in Taiwan Yahoo, also he is big liar." from my Note II using Tapatalk

The gen crystal and dial has some variations too so the distortion is not really a tell. The incabloc mod on the movement is a must as all Panerai 127 movements are uniform with that kind of incabloc.

The rep crystal is a tell for anyone who's seen the genuine crystal. None of the genuine 127 crystals, whether it be the troublesome z-wave batch that many owners chose to replace (and the one the noob rep probably most closely resembles) or the subsequent crystals really look like the noob crystal.  This is just confirmation bias from folks comparing reps to slightly better versions of those reps.

 

P.S. In the stacked photos this guy is showing a gen 217 on the bottom and a noob 127 or 217 case on top (the one without the crystal).

I am with W0lf on the crystal. I have owned three different gen crystals - 2 from the Fiddy era and one from a 217 and none look like the noob crystal.
