Guest lionheart Posted January 4, 2013 Report Posted January 4, 2013 but if i will have problem with crown?can i fix or i must buy new original crown and tube?why so many problems with 5version omega 42mm crown?thanks
watch.aholic Posted January 4, 2013 Report Posted January 4, 2013 It looks good to me....the pearl is nice and centered.....Take it....As for the crown tube issue, it'd come sooner than you think...just buy OEM crown and tube and get a watchmaker to swap it for you....that's something that you'd have to do for sure as the threads on the rep crown n tube get threaded pretty quickly....it's due to the poor steel they use..
Guest lionheart Posted January 4, 2013 Report Posted January 4, 2013 from where can i buy oem crown and tube?its the same like omega?
DeeCee Posted January 4, 2013 Report Posted January 4, 2013 I believe you can buy it from Ofrei., I have the V5 45.5 PO and so far no issues with crown
vandal.tbh Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 There's a great tutorial for replacing the crown and tube here: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/142430-my-planet-ocean-45mm-damaged-to-franken-the-story-so-far/
Guest lionheart Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 can anyone tell me where i find the correct crown and tube from omega 42mm asia eta?i need the link...thanks
rrari1 Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 Is there a good Omega modder, someone like BK who you can buy the watch from with the crown and tube issue already sorted out?
martijnp Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 This Omega looks good to me! Hope you receive it soon!
Matt_S Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) I'm guessing the reason why you can't use a gen crown with the rep tube is because the internal thread pitch is different? Edited January 11, 2013 by Matt_S
lol4 Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Yea the factory's been spitting out a bad batch lately. I was able to screw mine down probably 4-5 times before it gave out... But as with reps, it's a gamble you might not need it at all. But if you do, I did it myself it was pretty easy actually.. The parts cost me $54 from ofrei with shipping, then all you need it basic tweezer/needle nose pliers, marine epoxy ($5 from walmart), I also went ahead and greased everything with silicone grease to make the watch water-resistant.
