DWSmoot
I have had this watch for some years...inherited. Think it is late 70's model. Can anyone help me confirm this is the 16220 or 16030? It has the drilled lug holes and I believe what was called "pie pan"... It needs some work on the crystal and not really sure how to remove the scratches if possible...otherwise in pretty good shape... Any help appreciated... ubiquitous
Looks like a ref 1603. Should be a 1570 non-hack slow set movement inside...
alligoat
You need to take the bracelet off and see what the SN and model # are. I've seen pie pan dials on early 1600 Datejusts, but not the 16000 series. A pie pan dial is sloped down around the outside perimeter of the dial. I can't tell from the picture if your's is pie pan. Your crystal is (or should be)plastic, and the movement would be the 3035.
DWSmoot
Thanks for your help Ubi and alligoat...Your assumptions appear to be correct. Band removal indicates it is a 1985 model 16030 with a 1565-1575 movement caliber. Ubi was right on.... Did this model have a plastic crystal? Is there a good website to get specs on th older models? I can't seem to locate detailed information... Again...thanks DWSmoot
ubiquitous
Ahhh... I was a little off. I was basing my response on this being a late 70's model (1603) vs. a mid 80's (16030). Out of curiosity, what's the first 3 digits of the s/n?

ubiquitous
Ahhhh... late 8M s/n. That puts it in 1985 territory with a q/s 3035.
alligoat
A 16000 series Datejust would have a 3035 movement as Randy says. The 1575/1565 would only be in a 1600 series watch. The 3035 went into production around 1977, first in the Datejusts and Dates and later in the subs.
