Hiw is engraving made?

Hello folks,

I have searched extensively but no clear answer popped out.

I was wondering how is engraving make on case. Is it manually made or a specific tool is required such as a Dremel.

Mass produced engraving can be either laser etched/printed, or machined I would of thought.

I meant for vintage watches. Some seem to have been made manually.

Pantograph, laser etching, hand engraving, lots of methods.

The old watches used a pantograph. You can get used ones on ebay. Get a picture of any engraving, photoetch a brass plate, then make an exact copy.
