what has happned to some dealers here lately?

I recently read somewhere on this forum that some of the places that make replicas have been raided or blocked from manufacturing ( cannot find the post right now) which  obviously has had a negative impact on some of the dealers that also bought and sold from them.  I noticed that when I would browse some of the dealers websites, it was nice to see that each of them specialised with different selections available.  Recently, I clicked on silix website and somehow they seem to have disappeared.  Are they also victims of this latest raid or have they just shut down?

Some of the dealers have gone to different servers and different domain names. Those guys get hacked and their sites get cloned by scammers, and the genuine watch and apparel manufacturters have "seized' some of the dealer sites. I would expect that it's mostly just a PITA for them. If they are operating out of China,Hong Kong, etc. they certainly aren't too worried about LVMH, Swatch group  and Rolex USA's lawyers. More of a concern would be if the new Chinese administration decides that replicas are bad for business and the crackdowns in China really get serious.

I would think that China cracking down on the Rep factories in China would be much like the US War on drugs.

They "could" do a much better job shutting things down if they relly wanted to..and if the Govt didn't actually control these things....but why should they....they're raking in mega-billions.

It's all just a big "front"...a "smoke-screen"....at least that's the way I see it :)

The way Chinese politics work, expect no permanent bans, enforcement, or drastic changes to the rep industries.

Yes, the raids must go on from time to time, yes, arrests must be made.

Yet, they will never completely be eradicated.

I am a rep collector and I respect the dealers and manufacturers in China, who gave us all a wonderful hobby. I guess I would have no choice but to buy a couple more reps to show my support. :D :D
