Sparkal Posted April 16, 2013 Report Share Posted April 16, 2013 One of my customers has a R&D department they are mechanical engineers whos specialist lies in bespoke part production for the marine industry, They have a titanium "printer" that can build items up with fine tuning to the micron. Most recently they have made special knives for the crew members of the Americas cup boats, the rigging is all carbon fibre type rope and with a traditional box cutter type knife it take three strikes to cut and release themselves if tangled. These cleanly slice it in one. The only problem with the knives is that they are so sharp the destroy the sheath over short periods of time.
