mil04
Hi guys, I know they are now extremely expensive. I found one on TZ http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=6425582&rid=0#msg_6425582 Is this my only option? Anyone knows good quality tropic? Thanks
tmg
MD is right, plenty of deals on ebay. Bear in mind that the vintage rubber straps often STINK and you can't get rid of the smell. There are new silicone options (Modena I think) that look very similar and won't make your wrist smell like an old tire. I think those are over rated, you can get a same styled one for half the price on ebay.
vibramute64
It seems like the curved Tropics are a bit pricey (for whatever reason), but no need to spend $150 on one, like others have said, try Ebay. I think they look awesome on a vintage Rolex, IMHO.

panerai153
There is a seller name squinky(I believe) that posts on Ebay as well as WUS. He has tropic bands.

I've amassed a pretty big collection of Tropic straps, and out of all of them only one or two smell unpleasant. Unless you're extremely patient, you'll be paying a lot for any Swiss Tropic these days. However, you can also pay less for the Hong Kong-made Tropics--the ones with keepers that look like rubber bands. Other vintage alternatives: The Voguestrap Skindiver, which has a coarser basket-weave pattern; or the Italian SUB strap, which has a scalier-looking pattern.
