gtanak Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 Kindof stuck at crossroads here and need more opinions and comments etc. Which would you choose and why? The Volcano Or The Lava If you had this: My thoughts from the head are to go for the volcano. More common cos not limited edition, still striking on a nice hornback with orange stiches or even on a bracelet. Also no worries about getting scratches on the PVD. My heart however goes to the Lava... Who can resist a black orange contrast? It just looks like they belong together... But the risk of being called out is always there since its 99pcs... Why waste a gen dial and tachy on it? Decisions decision... Any comments appreciated.
TT88 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 I chose mine, though not a auto. I love the play of light on the brushed and polished bezel. Sent from my Bezel using 116610
marinamm20 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 vulcano 4 me - i too like the contrast of the brushed and polished steel. But no easy choise live long and prosper
masterful_blaster Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 I like the Lava Better. good contrast for sure! is the dial gen?
gtanak Posted June 14, 2013 Author Report Posted June 14, 2013 Yes siree, gen dial n tachy. The ss bezel does bring about a gd contrast btw the dial and leather strap.. Gd points
hiker01 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 Since I have the Tour Auto, I'll go for the Lava.
Guest Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 Not to crap on your parade. But GEN dials only fit GEN movements. The date windows have different spacing.
eunomians Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 The Volcano in person is a dud. Nothing about it matches nor does it have any design harmony. Of course, my opinion. I own the Lava. It is classic in color scheme, very much like the 70s/80s Orfina/IWC Porsche Design. 1
Guest Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 (edited) Whats up with your porsche tachys? Edited June 14, 2013 by jmicro
eunomians Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 Whats up with your porsche tachys? If you use a Momo or Nardi or other aftermarket steering wheel, you need to tilt the gauges in order to see them. Or at least, to see the crucial parts of the gauges. Very common btw. So for air-cooled: I can see engine temp, oil pressure, HWY speeds. I know when to shift by sound or by RPM needle on top at 12 o'clock position (quick glance). Cheers
Guest Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 Very cool. Although it would drive me nuts. :-P The only thing i ever use down in that area is the low fuel indicator.
eunomians Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 The only thing i ever use down in that area is the low fuel indicator. Actually, I totally agree with you that the low fuel indicator is probably the only gauge that really matters! This car is meant to really be driven! Cheers
gtanak Posted June 14, 2013 Author Report Posted June 14, 2013 Not to crap on your parade. But GEN dials only fit GEN movements. The date windows have different spacing. Dun worry u didn't.. I had to know that before splashing the cash on this gen set
altesporsche Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 I see some 911 Sexyness right there : ) Have any pictures of the rest of the beauty. I knew it was business when i saw the gauges in the "correct" 911 fashion The watch is Beautiful as well ! Just got my first AP last week ( chronopassion ) but the 911 dash really caught my eye.. sorry bit of a Porscheaphile lol
