danielv2000
Has anyone tried Minh's bracelets ? They are quite pricey - I think it was around $230. http://vintagewatchesmq.com/minhquy/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=834&category_id=88&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 Thanks

Nanuq
I really needed a thin riveted band for my Gonzo 6538 build, so I took a deep breath and tried the Minh piece. If I had paid $50 for it then I wouldn't mind the work it took to make it (barely) usable. At his price it should be perfect out of the box. I sent photos showing how it doesn't fit his Minh case, and he denied that was even his case ... he avoided all culpability. In the end I got it functional, but the endlinks were bent unnaturally in the struggle to fit it into the lugs. I straightened them out, sorta, and it fits now but they have a strange, and uneven, convex curve between the lugs. I tried reshaping them with a blunt pencil eraser, to smooth out the convex bend, and it did more damage than good. Yes, the endlink metal is thin enough you can bend it with a pencil eraser. For $50, go for it. For $250 don't do it.
danielv2000
I don't think Minh would go for $50!
Nanuq
No .... but he should. I think it's made from chewing gum wrappers.
mil04
Thank you Nanug for the detailed overview of the Minh 7206. Will be keeping my Yuki 7206, even though it's not as comfortable as I would like to be.
danielv2000
How hard is it to make a decent bracelet! We should get TC on this although the demand would never justify the investment.
Nanuq
Will be keeping my Yuki 7206, even though it's not as comfortable as I would like to be. I've had many Yuki 7206s, all the way back to when he first released them. I believe Minh's band comes from the exact same source, although the quality [sic] control has dropped dramatically. Yeah, keep your Yuki. It's the better piece.
