PreV box trial n error

i got so into the pre V model after tired with vintage,

after dial trial, strap trial and booklet, its time to start with the box to complete the package :)

this take a loooong time and alot of patience

I take a lot of photos to compare, many hours of searching for parts like hinges locally and the magnetic lock

my first came out too thick and the wood work is very poor, its a shame since i used a good teak wood...oh well lesson to learn :)

any after refinement on the drawing, measurement n better size of hinges, finally the bright light appear... still not the perfect one, but its close enough.

This time with cheaper wood: kampfer wood

Here are some shots

i'll use some wood stain to get the right color for the next step

Btw, please share some opinion about this box guys

I've only seen one such box in person, and I was struck by how rough it looked.  I've made a few custom humidors out of the same mahogany wood OP used, and my boxes were a lot smoother and cleaner.

The finishing on the Teak box looks a lot like what I remember.

I assume you've read this 'risti post on the boxes:

steph_dexter, I gotta say, this is a great attempt!  I wouldn't keep it glossy though, the OEM finish is almost a matte or sand/bead blasted texture.  The clip is also finished in the same texture.

Here are some pics I pulled from the web for you.
