Mistakes happen, I would think that if they did, they would provide you with a replacement. What happened?

I can't imagine that being something that regularly happens.  But sh** happens sometimes.  I would expect they take full responsibility.

If rules sre still same, the only take whole watch.

No loose movements or case or bracelet.

And they must match the watch you're servicing. E.g no gen frankens

I read a story from a poster on TRF a couple years ago, he sent his Gmt in for service and got a different case set/serial when he picked up. Not a replaced service case....somebody else's case. His paperwork proved it.

Your best bet would be a lenient independent w/ a Rolex parts account.

If you don't need parts, servicing is no big deal

My personal experience is that RSC will have to ask their clients to sign off on the acceptance of service case before they proceeded to do such works.  The RSC usually don't have any service case - and according to RSC in my location, they willl have to place an order with Geneva.   That happened to me 3/4 years back, i can imagine the rules would not have changed.
