How to work out your costs based on declaration...Includes UK and Other Countries

Here is a link which helps to see your costs for import to various countries... so when youa sk a guy to state certain values or what the item is this is what you will be charged on it and the shipping (Remember the shipping value is calculated in the amount as well)

It is correct based on a few packages I have had of late and is a great way to see what you will be charged based on what you are decalring in terms of value and teh item itself..

Remember you need to add in the shipping cost and also add on the admin charges for your postal service or the courier if relevant. Also any insurance required.

So in UK you will be charged whatever calculator states plus the admin fees stated below... VAT is calculated including fee below :(

Parcelforce charge £13.50 minimum plus the above (EMS etc)

Royal Mail charge £8.00 (registered mail)

FedEx, DHL charge around £15 upwards

Its certainly ahndy when buying gen parts/straps etc from proper sources and to try and maximise your insurance cover if you want it but without going to far based on what its worth to you... and if its lost.

Not had a problem from TDs but definitely helpful advice when buying from gen sources.

Masmanman.

Its more for that mate ...but also for when buying from other members.... if you want to maximise your insurance whilst minimising or balancing your costs of import its handy....

also sometimes orders from TDs have attracted customs charges.... there is a guy in UK thats posted just recnetly on Josh's section that he has a charge pending ...

But whether watches or anything else....straps, toys, anything its a handy tool :)
