mstan83
Afternoon guys I've been hanging around on here for a good several months now and in that time i've purchased a couple of reps from Trusty, which overall im very happy with. I currently have a PAM 183 and an IWC Portuguese Chrono. So now I'm ready to pull the trigger on another but i just cant decide! Really i'd love a PAM 512 but as far as I can gather this probably won't be repped until early 2014, so, in the mean time I'm torn between an IWC Mark VI or VII and the Breitling Super Ocean Abyss (yes I know they are both quite different styles!) I currently use the 183 as a casual watch and the IWC as a work watch so really would like one for a bit of both so any opinions or other suggestions to confuse me even more would be much appreciated. Mike on a bike
You have the Pam for sport , IWC for dress a bit of both go Rolex.
mstan83
That puts a cat amongst the pigeons! So many Rolex to choose from though! I quite like the Explorer 1 (on leather mind) but then that's not massively dissimilar in style to the IWC's I'm thinking about. How do you decide? Do you draw up a wish lost or just go on impulse? Mike on a bike
Like most impulse that is why you see so many watches bought and sold here. Only one way to know for sure right ,on the wrist. Oh by the way you will also end up with a lot of watches having ten, twenty around would not be unusual for most of us. Nature of the beast. mstan83
I know what you mean about impulse, and getting it on your wrist. I was originally going to buy PAM005 as my first purchase, loved the look of it thought wow this is different but I had never seen one in the flesh. My VERY kind friend let me test drive, so to speak, his Gen 000 for the day (we've worked together nearly 13 years) and as soon as I had it on my wrist I knew Luminors weren't for me! I suppose it's all about what works for you.
martijnp
You never go wrong with a nice Rolex Sub if you ask me.. Maybe you should look at the Breitling Transocean, beautiful watch (check out the pictures from my Transocean. See my signature)
mstan83
Transoceans are a very smart watch, nice choice. I absolutely love the vintage radiomirs but 47mm just gonna be too big on my wrist so im waiting till the 42mm 1940's Pams (mainly 512 or 514) are repped. Most beautiful case i've seen on a watch. But in the mean time I'll be drooling :drool:at a dozen watches and then ordering something to satisfy my urges! I'll let you know what i've gone with! I have three very nice examples and I'm on to the next brand! I have one Omega so I have my fill. PAM 089/224/326 are on my radar... Lol it never ends!
