vermogend
I fell in love with this watch. Almost bought the gen but decided to save the money for something else. So here I am, looking for a good rep of IWC portuguese chrono. So after a few diggings, My main concerns are: - Any AR coatings on these babies - Learnt there are a lot of movement issues with the 3714 Should I get the watch at all? I welcome all sort of opinion. If so, where should i get it? is the piece from TD solid enough. Or is there anyone supplying a more solid modded version? tomhorn
If you must own one, I'd keep an eye on the Sales section for one that has Domi's added jewel mod, or for a franken that has been built with the gen movement. The standard rep movement is a crapshoot. You might get one that works OK for awhile, or it might die soon. Either way it will eventually die. vermogend
There is 1 for sale right now with Domi's mod and some GEN parts. See the sale section. The price is a little too steep in my opinion. Thanks for the info. Its a great rep. Any other versions around?
tomhorn
There's one version of the watch, and the movement is problematic (being kind). If you're on a budget, you either need to buy one and take your chances (or better yet, send it to Domi), or find one that's already had his mod done. The rep is fairly accurate out of the box. If you don't want to go franken, then aftermarket AR and the Domi mod are the standard upgrades.
dvn
You do not get to see a lot of 3714 with just Domi mod and AR alone so good luck with your search.

vermogend
I've decided to get the rep from the TDs. Any ideas where I can get it AR coated? or any dealers who can get it coated before sending it to me?
van_damme1988
current so-called V3 has AR coated crystal and updated crown. example here: http://timeshops.net/product.php?id_product=13863
mkhargrove
My first purchase was the white face. I gave it to my Dad. It died after about 20 days of use. Then I bought the rose gold/grey. Beautiful watch. I lasted 10 days. Don't believe the "improved movement" talk. If you're going to buy one, be willing to invest in a modification to fix seconds at six. vermogend
Thanks all for the feedback. I've decided to go for the gen after all. I was planning to get gen Rolex Sub No date 114610. It appears the BK sub is pretty accurate. I'm gonna get one from from him. Also, is the any threads listing all/any of the super reps available on the market?
