Omega Seamaster Professional Classic and 007 Edition

As some of you guys may know, I had a huge omega crush back in the day....

The limited edition 007 was the one that first got me into watches and was chasing the grail replica for many years.

I finally had the chance to pick up the closed factory version a few years ago and loved it. I modded it to have genuine crown and bezel insert, from the surface it looked just the real thing but after a while, realised it just wasn't going to cut it.

Anyway, in the last 6 months, I had the chance to pick up the genuine piece with box and papers for just under $2K. Still a little pricey but wanted the real thing.

Then recently, I had a chance to pick the standard version for cheap, also came with box and papers but was in need of repair. Anyway, I was able to repair it and now have both. May be holding on to them for a while, I hope.

Love these!

Like many, i was hooked on Omega from the Goldeneye days, and have been looking for the 'right' price Gen, or top quality rep of the earlier models for some time!

My favourite has to be the later, co-axial model, with the Silver Omega Logo and Red 'seamaster' writing(DC wore in Casino Royale) but finding a good rep of those is virtually impossible now!

IMO these are a lot better looking than the new Ceramic SMP's, not sure what it is, but the Brosnan & Craig Seamasters just look much nicer to me

Nice collection youve got there mate, let me know if you ever think about letting either of them go to new homes!...

Thanks for kind words.

Agree the pre-ceramic versions seem nicer (though more prone to scratches on the bezel).

I don't think i'll be selling these anytime soon - spent too long chasing these two down.

I compared the genuine 2531.8000 with the old version that Paul used to offer (back in 2006) and the quality is there. They were very nice reps.

Saying that though, the current batch of POs are also very good!!

Hey Marrick - brings back lots of memories....oh how they used to make great Omegas back in the day...never knew, especially when they got the POs corrected, why they never made the closed factory versions once again.

I was fortunate to have many of these in my possession one time or another, for now, sadly, they are on other member's wrist.  One day, i hope to have some of these back in the collection one day.
