cls Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 The newest crown guard features a bearing for closure:
slay Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 gen or rep? what watch was this picture taken of?
archibald Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 I bet gen, based on the interior finishing of the guard, which I've never seen on reps. I think OP is taking great pains to make their guards more difficult to rep, while keeping their manufacturing costs below $300.
Watchmeister Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 I guess they are getting smarter.
cls Posted December 3, 2006 Author Report Posted December 3, 2006 gen or rep? what watch was this picture taken of? It's a gen 233
HauteHippie Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 For the price of the gens, the CG levers *should* be as cool as that!! I like it!
sssurfer Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Ok fellow modders, let's go prepare our filing and soldering tools!
Highflyingclive Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 No need - if there is a demand, the Chinese will copy this in ten minutes.
gioarmani Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 No need - if there is a demand, the Chinese will copy this in ten minutes. Lol!

sssurfer Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 No need - if there is a demand, the Chinese will copy this in ten minutes. With a minor flaw that will need mod...
Watchmeister Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Well, forget the ballbearing let's start with a proper H crown guard.
archibald Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Wait a second...I thought the lever was centered on H series guards---yeah they might be getting smart: a bunch of guards, 99% alike, but different enough that unless the chinese copy them all, collectors will be able to tell rep from real as long as they know which version gores on wich watch. I'm actually OK, w/ that since 99% of the people who see my watches couldn't tell and the the other 1% either collect reps, in which case they approve, or gens, in which case their so dumb I don't care what they think.
