umairarif Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 hi wanted to know is this a gen dial? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Beautifull-Slow-Set-Silver-Rolex-Oyster-Perpetual-Datejust-Dial-/141139455706?pt=UK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWatches_GL&hash=item20dc912eda cheers
AKTime Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Looks good to me. I have never seen a fake piepan dial. Others might have more insight though. If there ever were any slowsets faked they would have been done a long time ago and the printing on this one is way too good.
cjjoyce1 Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 AH!HAHAHA! I had this loaded up in my auctionsniper too! I pulled out though not because it isn't gen, but because it's a re-dial. It's a well done re-dial IMHO (from what I've read and seen the starburst is difficult to do right), but I just kept going back to the font thickness. When you compare this side by side with original dials, the printing on the originals is thinner and gives it a very different look. I want to build a 16XX and this caught my eye, but I think it looks too modern. Fantastic price to the winning bidder
