chubbchubb
Very nice watchugot pannylovernr1.... I finally found the time to fit one of my Palp crowns this weekend.... to my 196. It is strange how such a small piece of metal can make such a difference. They are very well craftet, fit perfectly and you don't have to change the stem (as suggested in another post). You have to shave the CG lever a bit though. ....ooooops - sorry for invading your post here....
pannylovernr1
Thanks for the nice comments, yes smoothing the CG is next on my list. It's actually a replacement from Josh since I managed to wreck the first one; Don't do this if the lever is loose... drill a hole in the lever and try fit a rubber tube around the lever pin (Jimmyzfu style), if you are clumsy like me Just do this, put a thicker o-ring under the crown and some soft setting glue around the pin in the lever, then everything's fine Oh, and the palp crown is not the sandblasted "Ti" crown from Palp, it's actually the polished Palp crown that's been brushed, repeatedly heated and cooled w/ a gas lighter to darken it (and then washed of course).
