  4. i'll let the photos speak for themselves..
  5. I was probably one of the first to purchase the first gen DSN pvd 009 when it came out a couple of years ago, and one of the first who experimented with cape cod on the case and filling in the indices cut out. sold that bugger a long time ago and regretted it. here're some old photos, some of the older members might find them familiar: and a 004 i had ~5 years ago. i drifted away from the rep scene after 2008/9 due to university commitments and only just got back to the rep pam community in the last year or so and MY GOSH it has changed so much! high quality parts are abundant and modders are churning out very convincing frankens. i bought one of the new generation DSN "pencil lead" DLC and it was unbelievable! however, i was intrigued by the FGD dials and PVD/DLC services offered by members here. i've thought of getting the parts myself and putting one together like how i would a couple of years ago but something popped up on the sales forum and i jumped on it. It has a FGD dial, rolli PVD, etc. exactly what i wanted. money paid and i received the watch yesterday. words will not be able to describe how perfect the watch is. here're some macro shots of the dial, it is truly amazing! a very big thank you to 5th_group for the watch! transaction went perfectly. the mods on the case is amazing and very very convincing. I'll be looking out for more watches from 5th cause i'm sure they'll be stunning! more photos of the pre-a 4 will follow once i get my hands on some parts. in the meantime, please share your experiences and post photos of your pvd/dlc watches~!
  6. *peace sign* they're fun to build! easy too! easier and much less frustrating than a vintage rollie daytona!

    tritium

not sure if it's the right place to post this but here's a photo of a gen tritium hour hand from a 7928 tudor sub.
  8. another speedmaster franken....had the incredible luck to obtain a case and watch w the same movement for a reasonable amount of money.
  9. excellent if it's unmodded!
  10. i can tell by the subdial spacing and a shot of the movement. most of the time, i'll have to look through all the results for "tissot chrono*" on ebay just to find one or 2 for sale.
  11. DANG! didn't win any, ANY of the cases. think there'll be a working tissot movement for sale in the parts forum soon, those thinking of making a speedy take note!
  12. cheers guys! i've just found another tissot prs 516 chronograph with the same movement. i might make something soon!
  13. sorry for the late reply, have been tied down w work. can't really remember the cal # of the tissot movement but it looks exactly the same as the omega 871/873. tissot used 2 other movements as well, one is the 1281 and the other is the same movement as the omega 321. any case which fits the 321/871/873 movement will accept the tissot movement. i actually prefer the panda over the silver dial, funny enough.
  14. cheers! they cost a fair bit to build but i had more pleasure putting them together than buying one from omega. the silver dialed speedmaster was made using nos case and dial from watchco. the panda used a nos but used case i bought from thebay, dial was from a member here in the rep community. can't remember the actual model of the tissot but i think it's prs512 or something. bought them at about 300. the silver speedie cost about 1300, the panda was less than 1k. i think.
  15. just want to share some photos of 2 frankens and a gen transitional speedmaster from 1969. frankens were made using genuine tissot movements that are the same as the omega 873. case, dial and hands are genuine NOS parts. ~enjoy.
  16. a few more photos after aging the gen insert and putting in a yuki pearl:
