BR01-92 Worried after QCs

Hello

I recently ordered my first rep from a trusted dealer, beeing a noob I recieved the QC pics and I only looked at them from a physical standpoint.

After OKing them I find myself second guessing my choice - on the picture where he is testing the amplitude and rate it says +10s/d - is this alot and should I be worried about it?

 

It's the BR010 - BR Instrument PVD Black 46mm 1 : 1 Asia ETA 2892-2

Don't worry about it, it was probably only hand wound a few turns, and this makes all the difference.

What could I expect when in use for a clockwork like this? +1s/d?

From what I understand, automatic watches sometimes run fast and sometimes slow.  It is also common to set the watch fast so that when as lubrication dries, so does the speed.

Mechanical watches can be adjusted to within a few seconds per day accuracy. It's a common surprise for people who normally wear battery powered watches. Even the best Swiss standard watches are only required to be 3 or 4 seconds per day accurate.

I hate to say it but you will be very lucky if it is fast or slow by only 10 seconds when it arrives. Virtually every watch I have received has needed regulation to keep 10 seconds +- . You will have to wear the watch for a week or so to allow it to settle down, before you can figure out its accuracy. Once you do, there are threads in the forum that show how to adjust your watch. I suppose thats an inherited trait of all mechanical watches then. 

Ive only got one mechanical watch, its a gen seiko 5 sports, It doesn't keep time that well, though I couldn't give you any specifics.

 

Just got to keep remembering myself to synch it against some NTP source once in a while so that I dont convince myself its accurate - been wearing quartz watches for years and they tend to be accurate

Just have it adjusted by a pro, and you'll only have to reset it once a week or so ...

Got the watch today!

First impressions I'm pretty happy with it but some things ive noticed is,

The glass seems to reflect light alot, making reflections on the wall..

Also the lume, I think I saw somewhere that the genuine's lume emitts blue? Can someone confirm this? BR01-92 PVD

 If the crystal reflects a lot of light, it may have single-sided anti-reflective coating or none at all. You can have this coating applied by a trusted watch technician if it bothers you too much. Also, the lume on Bell and Ross 01 replicas is not very good .. it's a problem with the whole brand. You can have that done, as well.

 

The first thing you learn is that a replica watch is a starting point. You pick a solid watch then buy it, and build on it from there until you are satisfied.
