The tube can replaced but you need to source a spare tube, not sure it will be easy.

Try to source first a new crown from one of our dealers and see if it works (it happen to me so maybe the issue was the crown...just a guess)

The Big Pilots have the same Problem often. On this watch it helps if you take a pair of pliers and make the tube minimal oval.

Maybe it works on the SA, too.

As a last resort you could shorten the stem to where the crown meets the case and forget about having a screw down crown.

I just had a thought. It seemed like a good idea at the time but maybe the stem would have a problem going all the way back into the movement to the winding position If you did that. Forgot about the spring loaded crown might be a problem.

 

I've thought about doing that but never actually tried it. Hmmmm!
