I received my shiny new PP Nautilus from Trustytime. It looks brilliant. Thanks Andrew!

Will swap with more correct hands this weekend.

I've never owned a Miyota before. Are they supposed to be this noisy?

Is there anything I can do to make it quieter?

I've oiled the rotor bearings.

I unscrewed the case back 1/6th of a turn. It's not touching the glass anymore.

Unrelated, but I also dunked the bracelet in oil to get rid of the extra link rattles.

I'm almost prepared to limit the rotor with thick machine oil and manually wind... But not quite yet.

Sent from my Guide using the Sub-Etha Net.

Could be due to a poor case back gasket and or poor back glass fitting. Compare it to a door with a chainsaw behind it. Leave the door open a crack and you will hear it very loud. Close the door and you will hear it less. Use draft rubbers and hear it even less....is the door solid wood or thin metal or metal with thin glass windows? All effect the sound penetrating. Same as your case back.

Interestingly, my friend has a gen PP 5711 and his rotor makes a whirring noise just as loud as the Miyota 9015 in my rep 5711. This a known characteristic of the gen PP movement.

So, the noisy 9015 rotor makes it more gen-like. The difference in sound is that the gen has a more refined buzzing while the Miyota has a more "crunchy" buzzing.

So, I love this watch except for the hands. The dial is so good compared to the other rep 5711.

OP, where are you sourcing hands?

Hands for the cheap version should fit:
21j=clone of Miyota 8215.
8215 has hands= 17/100/152
Miyota 9015 has hands= 17/100/152
:)
