ReplicaGreg
Hi there. I have a Moonwatch rep with what I believe is a Seagull ST19 movement. I have had it for just 5 months, but it quit winding. I believe the mainspring is broken. Took it to a repairman who has tried in vain to find a part for it. Is there a repairman in these forums who works on these and who could fix the watch? I would be much obliged. Or am I even asking in the right place on the site, or is there a better forum to ask this question? Thanks a lot for your guidance ... G
automatico
If it is the mainspring, repair shops can order just about any mainspring by thickness, width, length, and type (manual wind or automatic). Jules Borel, ST International, McCaw, Cas Ker and many others should have one. Do not try to order it by movement brand and model number as there are no parts for them in supply houses. Bc1221
It's more than likely the click spring. A fairly well known weak spot in the st19s. Sadly, seagull doesn't sell parts for their movements but I believe some of the forums modders can fix it. I think it's a bergeon click spring that works. bluesme519
I have the same problem here. it doesn't winds but i don't think mine has broken mainspring as it doesn't winds but it springs back the crown. Let me write abt how it went through on mine later. I will do some mods as well(gen plexi and bezel).
Nightwatch
Question regarding the ST19: Ofrey offers the R19 movement diameter 26mm/thickness 6.10mm for about $30 usd and a disclaimer regarding Seagull. Isn´t this a direct replacement and alltogether much simpler fix? Or will nothing fit? http://www.ofrei.com/page1119.html
Bc1221
I don't think oferi sells it. The only place I know of to even get a ST19 movement is from alpha.
