Can anyone recommend a person who has experience with fine anodizing work?

I'm aiming to get the triangle on my 6538 insert dyed red, which requires a bit more finesse/fine tuning then most of the anodizing services I've seen offered.

C, Even if you could properly anodize the red onto the insert (I'm sure it's possible but you'd have to first remove the clear coat on that portion only), there's the bigger issues of the rest of the insert not having the correct font for a red triangle insert. Assuming we're talking about a mK1 or mk2 insert as the starting point.

If your goal is to have as period correct an insert as possible, the red triangle insert with "incorrect" numeral fonts will be immediately called out. As such, you will have just significantly devalued a nice long 5 insert.

I am actually an engineer for a coating/plating shop which performs anodizing. Can you post a picture of what you're trying to achieve? Keep in mind that small, one-off jobs may cost in the $150 range.

The anodized red triangle on rep inserts look translucent which is incorrect for your vintage rep. I

Have had some good success carefully masking W/ scotch tape, not masking tape & painting w/ a solvent based paint marker. The result is rather like the gen insert. If you are willing to send me your insert I'm happy to install a red triangle...Best, mcotter
