Ylfig
Hi guys, Having a little trouble with my gen Speedmaster. The lever for the stopwatch seems to be a bit wonky, basically doesn't go fully back to the pusher after pressing. I opened it up and I can see that's what it is but I have no idea how to fix it. Sorry about the crappy video and dirt. Any ideas?https://vimeo.com/117431934 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dbane883
pushers often accumulate dirt and such which get into the gaskets and make them sticky. Good thing is, pushers for the speedy are not very expensive nor difficult to replace. You can replace it yourself if you have the right wrench... or get a decent watchsmith to do so. http://forums.watchuseek.com/f20/how-change-pusher-tubes-196441.html
Ylfig
It's not the pusher though. It's the lever (or whatever it's called) itself I think. On the other hand, maybe it is the pusher since it does stick a bit as well when pushed. Thanks for the article Dbane. Also, maybe worth noting. There was a tiny screw loose in the case but I have absolutely no idea what it does. Looked at the movement for about 30 minutes and couldn´t figure out where it´s supposed to be. gmg_3
There's a chance of some gunk and a few well placed drops of water could solve. I would go the other route and use the great opportunity to perform a full service..$240 including a main spring and your good for another 4-10 years. Ylfig
Yeah, not sure how much a full service would be for me here in Iceland right now. A good watchsmith did quote me about 250 3-4 years ago. I´d probably have to get the pushers myself from Ofrei though. Now, what about that screw?! Resistor
Don't run the movement while the loose screw is floating around in the case! Something is likely to get damaged.
Ylfig
I took the screw out of the case so at least it won't damage anything else. I won't wind it again either until it's looked at. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
