Omega Ocean Planet rep from Andrew (Trustytime)

Hello everybody, I'm a recently joined member, like everyone on here, i love watches.....

I have several replica Omegas and the latest one i have purchased was from Andrew at Trusty Watches. I bought a Ocean Planet Orange Bezel 45mm which i think looks very much like the real thing. The reason for buying? i had a look at a real Omega ocean planet and to be honest, i wasn't impressed. I honestly don't think they are worth paying £3800!! so i opt for this rep.

After i ordered the watch, i did find a few comments on line about the quality and Andrew as an individual. Some said "yea good watch, nice guy" others said he was a wrong un!!!!

It took nearly 3 weeks for my watch to turn up, and upon opening it, i find a small scratch on the bezel and the auto counter balance didn't spin 360 degrees. I contacted Andrew with my concerns and i feel as if i was palmed off a bit. He sent the quality control photos through as he does, but he obviously didn't check the counterbalance to see if it was ok. Oh by the way, it has a see through back (which i quite like)

He told me to allow the watch to "bed in' but after looking with a powerful magnifying glass, i could see a part of the counterbalance wasn't fitted properly and it was catching the lower casing so it wouldn't spin 360.

I sent him some photos (taken with my macro lens) which clearly shown the problem. I asked if i could send it back, but he instructed me to take the back off and slacken the screw holding the counterbalance, he said it was probably to tight.

As soon as i got the back off, it was obvious that the part was catching the lower casing. I managed to remove the counterbalance and with a pin head, i applied a spot of cyno glue to the gap and held it together. Once re-assembled it spins as it should do.

The reason for this post is not to complain, but rather show concern that some of these reps and their sellers don't really come with any sort of backup or guarantee. I would have been happy to post it back to him in China, but i got the feeling that he didn't want that. Lets face it, i could have damaged it taking it apart, its a risk i took, but i am quite mechanically minded.

heres a picture of the part at fault

yea too right, I've just had a reply from Andrew after i told him what the problem was, he just said 'well done'.......LOL thats not what i wanted to hear, maybe

'hi Kev, sorry about that, heres £50 back for your trouble' or 'sorry about that, i will send you a replacement part'

If anyone on here has any contacts that have better reps, i know a few guys and me would be interested. Id like to get the wife a nice rep for her birthday but i don't want to have to take it apart!!!!!

Andrew has a reputation for excellent communication prior to the sale, not so much afterwards - especially if the watch has problems. If you receive a good watch, you're in good shape...if you need support, better try to find an independent watch smith.

Madbadger, is that a BP factory Planet Ocean. Looks like that to me as all Noob factory orange PO reps seem to have the same printing problem on the bezel. That's the one where the triangle is not CENTERED in the gap in the ring.

speaking of after-sales service that's whatchamacall a 'first world problem'

while there are some dealers who'll forget you even exist once they have your money, there are also dealers who'll swap out the whole damn watch if the one that showed up didn't match spec

no kidding but Stan once sent me a replacement even before I mailed the first one back

I have no idea what version the watch is, It did say it was a ETA movement,  it looks pretty good against photos of genuine OCP's. My other omega reps just have a blob where the pearl is located, this one looks like the pearls fitted to the genuine models. Mine has just got omega and the icon and the oval shaped release buttons on the clasp just like the new models. However the one i ordered on Andrews website looks like it has the ceramic bezel, as on the pictures that i looked at, it said liquid metal technologies. I did ask him about this and he just replied 'its the latest version'

I bought a 007 Sky Fall ocean planet about 5 months ago, that looks like it has a ceramic bezel but the only thing that lets it down is the blob for a pearl and under the 007 engraving on the clasp, it says  TM Danjag.......or something like that. Im not sure of the movement, but the second hand doesn't sweep as nice as this new on i have.

Good thing you didn't return the watch to China. You'd likely spend $50 in return postage, spend six months without your watch, and finally receive it in worse condition than before.

I'm not a fan of sending back, but I sent reg. EMS back for $6? And Andrew returned a watch to me in 6 weeks free, repaired.

Im not sure what a noob version is, but i have noticed the helium escapement valve doesn't open. On my cheaper 007 Sky Fall OCP and my £90 sea master 300 it unscrews. Not that Im bothered but it would add to the realism of the watch........

Worse  than that the 6 and 9 are open on the GEN. I have only seen this good on Toro's  Even Intime has closed 6 an 9s. and the FONTS are waaaay off....Those obvious flaws would bug me.
