freddy333
Considering the parts cost vs franken value, I would have just bought the gen. Still, well done.

Guest Daytona1984
Considering the parts cost vs franken value, I would have just bought the gen. Still, well done. if you buy a gen for 8.500 EUR you still have a 20 year old watch with most likely no service and all external case parts are pretty much used including lots of play in the bracelet. in case you go gen and do a proper service with exchanging parts and bracelet you will end up easily at 11.000 EUR my watch is basically brand new for a lot less than that plus it is the journey that gives me the pleasure
508-Fanatic
The journey is what really matters - glad you enjoy it It is a beautiful watch, just seemed like a lot of $$$$$ in to parts.
droptopman
Stunning pair. Love the movement shots. Takes much effort and $ to complete these projects, but as stated the journey is rewarding. Enjoy them. Sent from my droptop using telepathy ️
508-Fanatic
Also, I had not considered the point about reliability and "newness" - that does certainly qualify as a benefit.
thekwaze
Yes a great project and thanks for sharing. I have a 16520 that has had several components replaced with El Primero parts that I would like to swap back to the correct 4030 parts. Trouble is I can not find anywhere to buy the parts I need, let alone anyone that will take on the job of replacing them! I would be most grateful if you have any advice on where to obtain the correct components.
thekwaze
Hi there, That looks like a great project and must be very satisfying when it starts to tick! I may have asked before, but could you please let me know where you manage to find component parts as I need some for my 16520. Many thanks, Dave
