Gotr
Hi all: I joined this group to share with you my 16660 homage. My other group would disown me I started with a complete gen Rolex Sea-Dweller. I've been searching for a gen 16660 dial for about a year without success. Soooooooo I swapped out the 16600 dial with a Yuki 16660 matte dial and swapped out the case back for a Thomas Preik sapphire case back. I consider swapping out the hands for the Yukis but elected to stay with the gen hands. So what do ya all think? I apologize for the multiple post Edited July 24, 2015 by Gotr

Mendota Explorer
What happened to your original dial and hands? Even if they are damaged they would still look cooler and would be original to the watch. Put 'em back in there! Regarding the caseback, nothing wrong with that. Those Rolex movements are pretty nice to look at. I get it, but put that dial and hands back in.
irolexu
I think it's your watch and you should do as you please with it however I would personally never take away from the watch if it was gen.

I have the original dial. They are not damaged. I was looking to do something different with my SD. I think it's your watch and you should do as you please with it however I would personally never take away from the watch if it was gen. This is not the only SD I own. And the process is reversible i will gladly take/buy your dial and hands if you don't want them anymore Not a chance, but thanx for asking
Beachcomber
I've never heard of anyone making a franken out of a Gen, guess it takes all kinds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited July 25, 2015 by Beachcomber
CharlieUK
yuki dial looks ok, but the gen mismatched hands are a no go from me, kills the look IMO. I'd get another set of hands and have PB or Vac relume them to match your dial if you plan on keeping the yuki in there.
dbane883
Yuki has gen hands to match. Unusual project but if you like it , that's all that matters. I built a 666 from all gen parts once. Ntg like a gen MK1 matte 666 dial. Dial alone was $3k. But I'd pay that again in a heartbeat. I take it this was the look you were goin for.

I thought I would be ok with the dial, but after a few weeks of wearing it, it's a no go for me as well. I've ordered a white lume yuki dial. On to the next adventure Yuki has gen hands to match. I take it this was the look you were goin for. Definitely. It's what I was hoping for. I have the hands to match the yuki dial but the second hand would not function. So, as I indicated above, I've ordered a white lume Yuki dial. I'm anxious to see how it turns out. And I can always install the orginal dial if need be...
