cavi
I bought this cheap Hong kong watch for my son, but it runs like 20 minutes slow in a day. Imagine a 20 dollar watch that does not work well.......Anyway before it meets the trash, is there a way to try and correct the issue?
kernow
No idea personally. However, don't throw it away as it's perfect for you to start honing your watchmakers skills on. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube. Good luck.

cavi
there is a small lever over the mainspring, most watches have a marking of which way speeds it up and which way slows it down, but this being a cheap chinese one did not have anything, so trial and error. And the adjustment is very sensitive, a little way goes a long long way
