PeteM
I know most guys have had or wanted a DSSD at some point and there has been much discussion on the dials so I thought i would just post up the gen dials that have been issued the biggest diiference is that the MKI has a gloss finish which the others do not and this leads into the Deep blue which the rep has a matte finish but is actually gloss like the MkI most noticeable when it catches the light especially if you ARd the crystal...So while I was putting together my franken I found various info on the variations and thought i would share them here before I get rid of them and move onto my next project... There are 3 variations so far starting with the M serial /Mk I The V Serial /Mk II/ Mk III mostly MKIIs and the G serial MkII/MkIII mostly Mk IIIsThe next easy tell is the position of the =Mark I...... ft=3900Mark II......ft = 3900Mark III.....ft= 3900Here are the pics that show more than words ever could.... Heres the DSSD II against the Deep Blue Heres the gen Deep Blue unmounted Edited September 4, 2015 by PeteM

PeteM
If you want a gen deep blue be prepared to pay up to 6K last one went for $4200...At the moment the ltd of the model means that parts prices are very high.... but I think like the gen Milguass that will start to drop in next 18 months....But at the moment even if your buying a gen blue dial to swap with your gen black dial then it makes no sense to buy one... better off selling your DSSD and using the cash from that with the money you would spend on the blue dial to buy a gen blue then buy a gen DSSD dial... much cheaper option...Remember the rep dial is supposed to be a MK I as is the case as the current DSSDs have a different case set to the early DSSDs Edited September 5, 2015 by PeteM

I bought all 3 versions of the black dials as well and was going to do that later when I received them all. Now I can just refer to your post. :-)DBlue is a super hot item and out of stock in most of the AD. In Canada here our ADs only get one every couple months... panerai153
Great post Pete, amazing how many variations of the dial have been issued since the relatively recent introduction of the DSSD. Great reference for those that are interested in the DSSD.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

PeteM
Hi, wanted to know if someone can suggest where I can buy double AR crystal for DSSD?Best thing to do is buy on from a dealer or maybe try BK ...you will probably get a BP crystal without much problem but Noob wont sell parts generally unless your dealer has an in Then send crystal to Prof in USA or Domi etc in EU... Profs is best as its colourless..Or just keep look out for sales threads as I just sold one and they do appear now and again... Or just send your DSSD direct to Prof or Domi etc and they will take it out and get it ARd for you..
