space Posted September 23, 2015 Report Share Posted September 23, 2015 I have this 2006 replica of the Omega Seamaster GMT.I believe it has an Asian 2824 movement, that has stopped working (some years ago).My watch interest is on the rise again, and I really love the look of this watch.I think repairing the movement is out of the question, but what is the easiest/cheapest way of getting this watch working again?I'm thinking new movement from ebay, or from a cheap watch, preferably with a white on black date wheel. Maybe skip the GMT function.Maybe new dial (and maybe new bezel insert, if I don't have a GMT function), making it something other than a Omega replica. What options do I have?What is the cheapest, pretty reliable, preferably automatic movement that will fit?Would it be possible to fit a quartz movement? tomhorn Posted September 23, 2015 Report Share Posted September 23, 2015 (edited) Since it is a GMT, then you would have a 2836 (either Asian or ETA), or possibly a DG movement.
