watchme22
Been trying to put a Franken together for the past couple days but the bezel is giving me some problems. The bezel turns smoothly outside of the case but once I install it on to the case it gets stuck and will not turn. Not sure if there's a trick or some sort of a tip to get this thing on and turning. Any help would be greatly appreciated or I may need to find someone that knows how to do it
SSTEEL
Can you detail what parts exactly you are attempting to build together?
watchme22
Sure. I pressed down the retainer ring. Then place the click spring in place and the other ring/spacer. Everything goes in perfectly. Then I snap the bezel into the retainer ring and it goes in fine but won't turn....
dbane883
so you are working on a 16610 sapphire bezel/retaining ring? TC parts? Anyhow, the friction washer should be underneath the click spring. Sounds like you have put in on top of the clicker.
watchme22
I placed the friction washer under the spring. Even without the washer or the spring the bezel will not turn.thanks for the replies so far
SSTEEL
A photo would help.
dbane883
Well like ssteel said, photos and parts list would be helpful. Seems like the issue could be a lot of things but we are in the dark without more details/pics. If you cant muster that, then you are on your own.The issue could include one or more of the below (assuming we are talking about gen construction 16610 sub):The crystal gasket is too thick thereby expanding the retaining ring such that there is too much friction against the bezelThe bezel is bent due to inproper installationThe retaining ring could also be damaged/bentThe crystal diameter is too wide thereby expanding the gasket too much and thus creating problem already explained in point #1The retaining ring and bezel are not compatible with each other (if you matched a retaining ring from one manufacturer with a bezel from another, very good chance they will not mate properly)something else I am too tired to think about right now Edited October 19, 2015 by dbane883
whoopy12
something else I am too tired to think about right nowThis is most likely the issue
watchme22
Thanks everyone, I'll update some pictures later.it is a 16610. The bezel set is from TC and is going on a Sean case. Nothing bent but I think it may be a bit too tight
SSTEEL
Are you using a genuine ROLEX CRYSTAL Gasket? From experience, these are a little thicker than a TC crystal gasket, so this could be your problem.
