Good 5512/5513/7928 square/pointy CG cases?

hmm,

The crown guard is wrong proportionally, the cg should ark further into the crown tube area on boytom side than on top, I've been staring at many refrence pics for my own scg builds, but hey that's just my opinion. However looks like there's enough meat to make it turn out nice. Tube looks drilled nice n high also.

He has the dials in Singapore I believe but the cases are sent out of Vietnam.

Hence the lack of QC. Sounds like a bit of a crapshoot of what you might get.

Does anyone know the thickness of his cases?    Is it the same as gen?

Too thick cases really bother me and if I'm not mistaken Phong is the only option for gen thickness.

Except for 5513 cases with SCG not existing in 1967...

 

 

 

 

 

Bezel looks good, could pass as gen with proper polish...

jsofia: square guard case is thicker than the normal pcg case...indeed it has same thickness as 5510.  the case thickness is one of the "tell" by collectors.

pam007: the case set looks great!  just need a good polish to bring it to rsc spec i think.

The picture on post 32...

The side view of the case looks a whole lot like the IG44 case I bought from an RWG member a year or two ago...same 'canoe' shape. Mine has regular CG though. Also got a 1680 dial direct from IG44 but never put it all together.
