Iwc clasp

Hello guys,

Been a while since I've come on here! Was wondering if anyone could tell me if this IWC clasp (I have attached images) is genuine. Some have an oval logo in between Swiss made and acier inox writing and some don't, is this just based on the year it was made? 

Anyway if this looks legit to you or rep, let me know your thoughts.

Best way too tell is looking at the closed clasp and the square if that is crisp

Nice clasp pics, but even with gen IWC clasps there are many variations... Specially the steel stamp varies. Some of the newer rep clasps even have that square closer piece. Check the rep clasps on eBay. Only real way is to feel the finish. All rep clasps have sharp edges, the gen only has soft rounded edges, specially the inner square at the logo.

Thanks for your input. Rep clasps have become so good, especially for IWC. Rough edges is a good way to tell if it's a rep, but unfortunately, you have to buy it first in order to feel it.

The greatest tell when in hand are the sharp edges (marked in red), you can nearly cut yourself on these!

Actual rep clasps don't have sharp edges anymore. I would say it is nearly impossible to spot an actual rep clasp. So the only way to be sure is to buy from AD.

Not? All from ZF have had such that I got!? But your right via a pic it is nearly impossible to see...

No, I have an actual BP rep clasp on my 5009-08 and it has smooth edges. The IWC engraving is perfect. I have a couple of rep BP clasps, but this one is georgeous. So nowadays I would only buy a gen clasp from AD, I think no chance to spot a rep.
