docblackrock
Hey Guys,.. Jay is now requesting photos that have the serial numbers clearly photographed... Does anyone have them ? Already supplied them to Jay Interestingly, talking about the security symbol, it's not just on special editions - also appears on the PO chrono.... uziuzi
So when is this going to be ready ???
solicitor
It is not clear, but this gives you an idea of the position of the serial numbers on the caseback (arrow #3) of a gen 2907.50.91. I would think they could copy any other PO caseback for exact details. Here it's 1xxxx/5007.

flavor flav
Anyone know the length of the rubber strap? I'm concerned it may not be long enough... seems it should fit most. i tried one on with my 7.5" inch wrist and had four holes to go.

mezzanine
I don't know what the coating on your Breitling is like, but my PO (gen) takes a quick breath and a circular wipe from a T-Shirt to look clear as can be...almost invisible in fact. Honestly, the coating does show remnants of water spots that dried on the crystal, etc, but cleaning in the above manner is all it takes. Also, dust doesn't stick to it any more than any other watch. It might be more visible because the crystal looks almost invisible under it though. The double sided coating on the PO is unreal. It can really seem like there is no crystal at all. I think I'm on this side of the whole AR debate....but admit that I haven't experienced the pragmatics of having to deal with it personally, so it's a 'soft' opinion. I really think it enhances the appearance of certain watches- especially those that have large dials...pams and the big PO. I'm not going to go off on a big AR rant, I just told myself. docblackrock
Guys firstly thanks for chipping in but Jay now has pics of undoctored serialed casebacks such as this one...however below #1000 there are no prefix zeros as with PAMs so 0007/5007 does not exist! They start 1/5007....25/5007.....783/5007......2891/5007 etc. Hopefully Jay will make lots of serials like the PAM187 as opposed to the singular serial on most Rollies He's also been sent security symbol and been told about the orange caseback 'seal' paint dot as pictured. As for the rubber strap, buckle side length is exactly 3 inches (excl. buckle itself), other side 5 inches, see pics of my gen...

coolfire
Please can you tell me if it will gonna be double ar coated like the hbb? If so I will take one. Jay has confirmed that it will be coated with AR on either sides of the sapphire crystal... :thumbsupsmileyanim: ... But since I do not own the Big Bang, I cannot comment on whether the coating will be similar to it...

But since I do not own the Big Bang, I cannot comment on whether the coating will be similar to it... The addition of double coated AR will certainly inhance the reps accuracy, but I hope they don't screwed up again using the wrong shape logo. However, since the Ultimate Edition has that same problem without the double AR, I would definitely buy this one instead of the latest ultimate version. Does anybody know when it will come out? docblackrock
Have been liaising with Jay re. final final details - things are in process, although there has been a problem with the rubber strap (a delay rather than anything serious). I am getting some proof photos hopefully before CNY - once prototype is signed off, Jay will get production moving. So patience gents - all good things come to those who wait

TeeJay
Hahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahhaahahaha If the source of that picture is the source I think it is, on another forum, I actually challenged the person who put the red arrow indicating the mark, pointing out that they were simply making it more identifiable to the people making reps. His half-/\ssed reply was that it didn't matter because "it's a precision mark" ahahahahahahahahaha What a sanctimonious mug! Did it not occur to him that if someone has the means to recreate a lazer-etched crown on a Rolex crystal, or even etch the words Omega Seamaster Professional (rather than engrave them) onto a clasp-back, then etching that 'precision mark' will be no trouble. I'm not naming names, but the guy in question is so far up himself it is ludicrous. I'm glad to see that I was proven right about him actually assisting the people who make replicas
TeeJay
PS I tried one of these on in the AD yesterday, and it really is a very nice watch. By comparison, it dwarfed the 2254.50 I was looking at at the same time. However. I would not want to own one for the following reasons: 1) I prefer the shape of the notch holes in the regular Seamaster strap over the notch holes in the Planet Ocean strap. 2) I do not like the idea of the double-sided AR coating. The outer coating will rub off and spoil the finish. 3) Personally, I think the watch is a little too big for my own tastes, I prefer the 42mm 4) James Bond would never wear a watch with his serial number splashed all over it

I like the idea of the rubber strap, superlume and as opposed to you, double-sided AR coating I'm waiting for some pics of the prototype... I like the idea of the rubber strap, superlume and as opposed to you, double-sided AR coating I'm waiting for some pics of the prototype... Oh don't get me wrong, I'm all for accuracy in reps, and I love the feel of the resin strap, it is easily the most comfortable strap I have ever worn. My issue was that I think the rectangular notch holes look nicer than the off-round notch holes on the PO strap, and, as mentioned in another thread, with the LE 45 PO I tried on, someone had fitted a standard buckle onto the strap rather than the correct PO buckle.. That strap will certainly start splitting soon As for the AR coating, yes, it will be accurate to the gen, but, as mentioned, AR coating on the outside of the crystal will wear away and spoil the look of the crystal. It only need be on the inside of the crystal, like on the 2245.50. It's like the SS bracelets having screw pins. No, they are not accurate to Omega bracelets, but they are better than the push-pins... Just because the gen is a certain way, that doesn't mean that it can't be improved upon.
