Rolex crystal question

Hi,

I think this is correct but was looking for confirmation before I buy one.

In a Rolex crystal reference number, does the middle set of digits represent the crystal diameter?

For example, a 25-315-C2 would have a diameter of 31.5 mm.

I'm looking to replace the crystal on my Explorer I 214270 and that crystal measures 31.5.

The 295 crystal actually has a bottom diameter of 29.5 mm and the top diameter is 30.5. But I don't know anything about the more modern crystals.
