Any Word On A New Davidsen 111h Dial?

Recommended Posts

I know back in November a new version came out, but almost immediately there was work on a new one.

Anybody have any updates?

I have an older 111H that I wear almost daily, but has all the obvious flaws

so I'm looking to spring for a shiny new one instead of upgrading my current daily beater

thats starting to show some age.

Thanks!

the "old" davidson dial i put on my 177h - take a look at the comparison in the links in my sig. With the naked eye you won't know the difference.

That's a sweet 177H! So is Davidsen out of commission? If so I'm probably better off just sending out my current 111H for all the fixes(relume, new hands, crown, and cannon pin fix)

Thanks for the info!

Davidsen is not available

Do you mean temporarily, or has he closed down for good? I was planning to buy a 111h and brass arms from him. I got the impression his Pams were the best quality available if I am not concerned with some minor flaws regarding font size etc.

I have a 111h and plan on swapping it with a new dial (whenever it comes available).

I've never held a dial up front and close. Currently, my dial is super-lumed, can I just swap in Davidsen's new dial w/o the need to re-lume (sandwich dial allows for this)?

I just wanted to bump this thread up, cause I am curious as well. Any one know anythign about the new 111h? I am strongly in the market for one, and Davidsen seems to be my dealer of choice as of right now, but I don't want to commit on this one and then have another update come out a few weeks later. Thanks...

The new supposedly 'perfect' dial is still in the making... He's probably very busy with his titanium projects so the 111h dial has taken a back seat for a while. Sit tight and it will be out in due course. If you want to keep a closer eye on Davidsen's work take a look at RWI as he posts there more frequently than anywhere else...

I have his current 111h with the slightly dodgy font and am waiting for a dial swap. It's really not that bad but once you've read hundreds of posts saying how flawed it is you start to feel it's a big problem!!

@randombloke - That looks really good. Just from the picture above your post, it seems like they took care of a decent amount of the "fuzzy" dial font.

@tourbillion - Please do keep me updated. I have really be wanting to order from Davidsen, but have been hesistant as I am not sure when something new will come out. Thanks.

Hi all

wooooooow his new dials looks good :thumbsupsmileyanim:

the "L swiss L" is now a little bit near to 6 marker :wounded1: .... but the quality of dial is perfect.

i know all his dials... from old models 1-2 years ago and the new dials. Also the materials are now much better as on old dials

If you ever see genuine dials, you will know what i mean. I have saw many genuine dials and the materials are total different from rep dials. But Davidsen new dial use also materials very close to the genuine

you will see pics??? :whistling:

here pics

They always do that stuff to us. They fix one problem (the font) and create another (the located of the SWISS). We all know exaclty why they do it, its just frusturating after a while!!

@tourbillion - Overall, with the new prob and fixes do you think this dial is alot better than the last? Also, when can we expect to see these babies in the 111h from the dealers?

ok here the news

bad news: the "L swiss L" is closer to the 6 marker and little bit smaller. Old dial has look better?

good news: the lume is more white (older was little bit more green) and the lume is WOOOOOOW

i thought his old dial has a fantastic lume... but his new dial has a unbeliveable good lume. I can´t belive my eyes.

or do you think, it is because the new dial is without glass and the old dial is in the case and behind of glass. Glass makes the lume quality poor?

sorry i have not one of this old dials (with small printing)... i have it only on my watch in the case.

let´s see what the experts say... take out your ruler.... 0.005mm :g:

Is it really that hard to get the correct font/spacing for a dial? I mean the guy has released like 100 versions of this dial lol.

I hope he will be able to print out a perfect dial for this cause it is the only thing stopping me from buying it. This watch has been in my to buy list for ages.

it is impossible to build a 100% correct dial

and it is impossible to build a 100% correct watch

replica is replica

only the genuine is 100% correct

Sure? It's a conspiracy and Davidsen deliberately put an error in?

Na Pug, I didn't mean Davidsen did it, the rep factories just continue to put minor errors in watches that way people will continue to buy new ones when they are put out. Its just business, and I know everyone has access to the same reps from the same factories.

Any opinion on the new dial?

i think the new dial is great! his dials are of much higher quality than the other dealers.

I'd love to see some pics or hear from anyone who has actually purchased and received the watch. Been wanting one for a LONG time and I think it may be time to commit.....

Has anyone actually purchased a 111 or 177 since the new dial came out from Davidsen? I would love to see some pics of it and know whether or not its worth it.
