Clint Eastwood Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 hello, i search a val 72 but don't find one, i would like to know i someone know what movement i can put in my DW daytona case? is his "mystery" mouvement available elsewhere ? or what mouvement can be replace it ? even with only two subdials at 3 and 9o'clock ? it's not a matter if the pushers are not assymetrics, i can moddified it . a valjoux 7750 can fit it ?(if i remove the balance wheel )is it the smae subdial spacing?, or maybe a 7760, or maybe a poljot mvt ? Please help me, i realy need your help, Thanks a lot
ubiquitous Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 Installed a Valjoux23 in mine (with Ziggy's help)...
Clint Eastwood Posted January 12, 2007 Author Report Posted January 12, 2007 thanks for your help , i search one now !!!! What modification do you need to do ? to adjust the pushers ; You have realy nice daytona !!!
ubiquitous Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 The movement in mine was physically a drop in replacement. Only problem was with the hands... While the movement was out, a genuine tube and crown were also fitted. No adjustments needed for the pushers to line up...
Clint Eastwood Posted January 14, 2007 Author Report Posted January 14, 2007 Thanks again, what the problem with hands ? i have also a vj23 hands set, i think it can sfit [censored], no ?
Ephry73 Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 The val23 for my 6263 with exotic dial is on its way and I wanted to know what hiccups I should foresee. The movement needs a service and I was planning of using DW's v72 dial and hands
freddy333 Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 The v23 is just a v72 without the hour counter. It will fit any case made for a v72.
Ephry73 Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Great. Are DW's hands and dial the best option yet?
freddy333 Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 I have not found a source for consistently good aftermarket hands. All appear to be luck-of-the-draw. My best & worst handsets came from DW (listed as same part).
lhooq Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 I've tried Clark's and a few other sellers on eBay (though I never paid more than $30 for a set). DW had the best-looking hands. Build quality could use a lot of improvement, but I found that they were the best visual match to the originals. This is especially true of DW's subdial hands. Often, they're loose on their tubes and need to be fixed using Freddy's method. However, the width and shape of these hands is just right.
