Pugwash Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 Yes, in the window of a Panerai AD, I saw a Panerai Quartz. It's a gen, too. Excuse the photos but my RAZR was the best camera I had on me. It's on the bottom left of this picture: Yes, it's a two-crowned case, quartz alarm travel desk-clock.
chrgod Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 Weird... and funny! I think that Panerai is becoming a victim of the brands own sucess.. And they are trying to cash in on other spinoff products like travel clocks, wall clocks and even Cup pads like Paul is selling on Wo-Mart... Soon there will be Panerai After Shave, beer, tooth brushes and dust bins.. Just like the Harley Davidson brand was destroyed.
Watchmeister Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 But is it a swiss quartz movement?
Usil Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 What store is that? I have often stopped and window shopped but never took my camera. Lots of AD's in Paris. Usil
Pugwash Posted January 13, 2007 Author Report Posted January 13, 2007 What store is that? I have often stopped and window shopped but never took my camera. Lots of AD's in Paris. A tiny one off the Champs Elysees, near Place des Ternes. I don't take my camera window shopping because jewellery shops take a very dim view of people casing the joint ... I mean, er, tourists with cameras.
Finepics Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 I actually handled one of these at the recent Panerai event at my local AD - nice but gimmicky. The desk clocks are also a quartz movt. They also make a desk barometer as well!!
JWR Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 I'd buy a rep of the alarm... as it is, $2000 for a quartz alarm clock? no way. I'd gladly pay $100 for a rep though.

Ah, yes - nice Idea indeed ! I would buy a rep of it too - should be not too hard to produce for the factories. And I really would not be picky about flaws on this one... (as long as it is overall good quality !)
