Nanuq Posted November 17, 2017 Report Posted November 17, 2017 Here's another good one, it's the Harrison Chronometer H4, used to determine the Longitude at sea. http://collections.rmg.co.uk/collections/objects/79142.html
Sogeha Posted November 17, 2017 Report Posted November 17, 2017 Born just a few miles from where I was born (somewhat later). His third clock, with wooden gears is at Nostell Priory, a Palladium country house near Wakefield and not far from his birth place. The gears and workings are all made of wood, I have seen it a many times. Last year I was walking in London and by chance found the place where he lived his final years and died. Camden just off Red Lion Square 1
