civic4982
Hi folks. During a service my Monte Carlo crystal began to come apart. Although I had a Tropic 128 genuine crystal the inner diameter of the crystal was too large for the David Wong (DW) case and the outer diameter was too tight for the DW bezel. Any sources for when one might replace this crystal? Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
alligoat
The challenge will be finding a crystal that fits the ID of the DW case. On the DW Daytonas, it's common to have to sand the OD of the bezel- taking it from 30.4mm to 30.5 or slightly larger to fit a standard T-21 crystal. Buying a decent set of calipers is also a good idea. The $15 calipers from Harbor Freight do the trick.
dpap
I have managed to fit a gen crystal by sanding the inside of the dw bezel. It takes some time though...
civic4982
Ohhhh I see. Perhaps the Tudor Monte Carlo case is based upon the T-21 crystal instead of the T-128 crystal I had purchased since they perhaps used the case of the Daytona as a mod case instead of the 7031/2.Thanks for the input folks. I’ll have my friend measure he ID size for a correct crystalSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
