ziax
I just went into timpsons watchsmiths I've been in 2, the first one was good said they could service the watch but they said something about the crown falling out which put me off but, the second one, is well I went in there and said can you do a service for Asia Clone SA3135, he looked at me and didn't know the movement, I said it's a clone of a 3135 rolex movement, it's a replica, NO DONT DO REPS, YOU CANT EVEN SERVICE A REP, THERES NO WAY, WHO EVER TOLD YOU THAT IS PULLING YOUR LEG LOL, so I just said ok no problem see ya, then he told me his life story how his brother got a gen omega speedmaster and how he lost the 9ct gold 1940s omega that his grandad gave him. He spoke to me for about 10 minutes of complete bs, then he asked if I wanted a rolex and the cheapest he could get was £22,000, I said maybe one day mate. All I wanted was a second opinion, I'm not getting it serviced by timpsons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Legend
I think I’ve already given you my two cents on this. Don’t use them. They clearly know nothing about reps and that the clone movements can be made to work very well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
kernow
They are a chain of shoe repair shops that also cut keys and service watches. The watch servicing on site usually consists of bracelet adjustment and battery change. Why would anyone with a watch worth anything go there? Although they can generally send watches away to their service centre and a real watchsmith. I did go into a branch and they pressure tested my Seamaster Chronograph and it passed with flying colours - to their machines limit.
