Help identifying my build - 6239 Paul Newman

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

About 4 years back I bought this very nice build from a fellow Swedish member here on RWG. I can't however find the old FS thread any more and was wondering if any of you could be helpful in identifying how this watch was build, using what parts etc.?

If (and this is a big if) I remember correctly it should be:

- DW 6239 base with a modded case

- Gen/Clark crystal

- Heavily modded case shape, vintagized dial/hands etc.

- Can't remember regarding crown/pushers

- I thiiiiink it was a gen coronet on the dial

- I have no idea about the authenticity of the clasp/bracelet/endlinks but feels solid

Overall it's a super nice build, I think that it cost me somewhere around 900-1000 EUR at the time (2016 or 2017). I want to start working on the watch again/sell it and any help in identifying how it was built would be mega appreciated to price correctly or identify what's needed to upgrade it.  I've tried taking some detailed pictures of it, attached below!

Thank you all!

DWs came two ways- the 7750 movement with the autowind assembly removed or you could get a DW case and dial for a Valjoux 72.  Of course a V72 DW would be worth more these days- the V72 is worth over $1000 alone and maybe more like $1500. I have a DW albino with the 7750 movement and I paid $300-350 for it back in the day.
