Squeaking Bracelet Help!

Recommended Posts

1. toothbrush and paste first whole bracelet, to clean of the factory dirt

2. rinse

3. cape cod to get som gen shine into it

4. rinse

5. wiggle the shine into oil bath (example WD40) for 30 min, wear gloves

6. wash bracelet in luke warm water, no soap

7. polish bracelet after it dried with a soft cloth

8. put bracelet back on watch and have a single malt whiskey (no ice)

what i do is buff each link with a buffing wheel, just enough to smooth the edges but not take the brushed finish away (this is a step i do for the rollies mostly) never done a IWC so use precaution and then i put simichrome paste on it or S-100 (u can get it from the harley shops )and rub it in good then i oil it down with wd-40 and

then i scrub it in hot soapy water with a soft tooth brush and then i shake it dry and towel dry it and then i blow dry it so there is no water left in between the links to prevent rust

never thought of using a hairdryer on my watch bracelets, good tip. thanks joe

Used toothpaste and warm water and brushed all the links well ... not onyl does it look HEAPS better now (not sure why) it also stopped most of the squeaks!

Now only a tiny squeak.

Do u only apply the WD 40 the the pins?
