flavor flav Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 i was watching this all week ready to bid at the last minute but got busy modding/servicing some unitas movements and forgot to bid i had a fun project in mind and i can't believe this went so cheap! angelus 8 day clock
Falco Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 that's what ebay's all about, sometimes you can get incredibly lucky (or unlucky)
offshore Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 FF, Invest a few $$ in a sniping programme ( I use Auction Sentry) and you will always have your maximum bid up! Can tell you, it works for me, and there are a few "hidden" benefits, if you use it wisely! Offshore
t Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 congratulate you saved some money this is wrong angelus 190 caliber. if this was 240 caliber... you has no chance to buy it, because tourby is on bid
V Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Yes thats a wrong movement.. with key winding and not stem... you saved your money indeed
t Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Yes thats a wrong movement.. with key winding and not stem... you saved your money indeed key wind is no probem... if it is a 240 key wind it will worth at all $400- $500 but it is also the wrong caliber 190 and also key wind... don´t wort money
madasboot Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Hey FF, consider yourself lucky if your preference goes for a cal. SF240. Tourby is right, the one you "missed" is equipped with a cal. 190. Someday someone has to explain me why the speculation around the Angelus mvmts... I am very suspect but under the matter of vintage "common" mvmts, nothing beats the cal. 616 or 618 from Cortebért. These bastards are really "little" powerhorses and is quite easy to find spares for them if needed. If you are really after cal. SF240 I will keep you informed if one crosses my way (however Finepics has priority over it). Cheers, marco

Cheers, marco i agree with you Marco cortbert 616 are nice movements and very good for projects. a project watch with angelus240 is very difficult or may impossible... and cost a lot of money and time for alle vintage lovers... get with cortbert. Short Power Reserve is no problem, because i wind my movements all 24h. but i think cortbert power reserve is not much more???
flavor flav Posted February 9, 2007 Author Report Posted February 9, 2007 thanks for making me feel better i'll do a cortebert instead. should be alot easier.
