migiandone Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Silix Watch are very cheaper, (quartz movement), some experience in this kind of watches? Are the same watches of the ones with eta mov? Same bulding qualities? Thx in advance. MIG
Richard Tracy Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 I once ordered a whole boatload of automatics, so though I can't speak for his quartz line, the autos were all pretty good material wise, though his JLC reversos were made of pot metal {which he said he would discontinue.} I think if you go for Rolax, Omega and some of the other heavy duty lines then you are safer than some of the Jewerly lines like patek and such. Goodl Luck !
Chronus Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 How long did the r*l*x reps last from silix watch (not prime)? I only ask because i got one for a friend.

KB Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 I have a couple also around 8 months still going strong. Ken
Chronus Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Great, I may give it a try... see how it goes The watch *did* seem kinda light but I expected it at the price of 28EUR!
breitling122 Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 I had a Sub from silix for about 5 months and its still going great.
JosePR Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 (edited) bvlgari and Cartier Must rubber strap both with quartz crono, working good and good quality the cartier pasha from him too, its noisy, the strap is kinda funky but very good looking and working watch. Edited April 4, 2006 by JosePR

The quality in the ETA watches all the way around - dial, bracelet, case, plating, screws, etc. - is generally much better. Just my 2 cents.
Chronus Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 I'm considering the cheaper ones for the more outlandish models... eg. the cola mariner (not that i will get that!). A good cheap option to try it out.
