wow what an investment!!

I dont know whats stoping me from dong that. Doesnt mbw cases come with pollex engraving or something like that? I also heard that they dont have serial number..

I think the buyer will realise after buying it. This is a completly scam.

Nanuq/Ubi -

Forgive a newbie question, but what are the flaws you saw?

I checked Ubi's reference post on the MBWs, and the "registered design" looks very different from the eBay item. eBay is engraved, MBW etched.

So what else gave it away? Lugs? CGs?

I'm not convinced that the case was an actual MBW- In my opinion, it looks much different than the MBW 1665 cases I've owned. Shape of lugs (profile/curve/etc), the bezel doesn't look tall enough...

Most likely, a reproduction of another sort. But certainly not genuine.

(just my opinion).

I'm probably looking for the wrong things. But I'm wearing

a DRSD / MBW version as I'm typing. My watchcase definitely

looks different from the one on the bay.

Caseback is different. Similar layout but different crown

and sharpness of the engraving. HE valve looks slightly

different too. Same goes for the position of the lugholes.

I think the ebay version is legit. At least it is not a

MBW version.

Legit? Most definitely not. It's a reproduction/aftermarket/replication... Whatever you want to call it, but certainly not legit. It is flawed like crazy, and nothing at all like a genuine. I am sure the bidding only got as high as it did because of shill bidding- The fact that the auction listing was kept private only further strengthens my suspiscion. I wouldn't be suprised if the item was not actually sold to anyone- Chances are, the winning bidder is actually the seller.
